A work in progress blog about all things vegan in the Pacific Northwest.

It was my sister’s birthday the other day. I made her cheezy broccoli soup in a bread bowl for dinner and banana cupcakes with lemon icing. Both recipes are from Chloe’s kitchen. And both turned out absolutely delicious. These are definitely the best cupcakes I’ve made so far.

Kale and cock sauce for lunch. Pancakes for dinner. Whoo hoo.

Check out the latest additions to my cookbook collection. :)

Until a vegan or vegetarian enters the room, people don’t see themselves as meat-eaters. They are merely ‘eaters’, and it is we vegans who have made them aware of what they are doing. Often this is discomforting.

Oven braised artichokes. (Taken with instagram)

This was my late dinner last night. Oven braised artichokes. I loosely followed this recipe, http://gourmandeinthekitchen.com/2012/garlic-thyme-oven-braised-artichoke-recipe/ so delish!

Tofu sandwich from Marlene’s. (Taken with instagram)

Yesterday I had this delicious sandwich from Marlene’s Market and Deli. Tofu, veganaise, lettuce, sprouts, tomato, mushroom, pickles, and avocado. What a sandwich! I also attended The Plant Based Diet with Brendan Brazier. He’s this wicked cool vegan triathlete. It was a very informational lecture. I know more things about nutrition now. Whoo hoo. I sort of want to be a bad-ass plant fueled triathlete. But not really, because training and lazy. Ah ha. And sandwiches. Oh and I eavesdropped on this guy talking about his idea for a documentary that focuses on promoting plant based diets and being green to the hip hop community. He said he got to speak with Dead Prez! I even caught the name of the website, http://www.hiphopisgreen.com  I’m definitely keeping an eye on that. :)

This is moi, enjoying some sun with my book, my coconut water, and my sandwich. I love Washington when it decides to be nice.
